Before submitting a thesis for review, students have to perform in-depth thesis proofreading to avoid common mistakes. Here is the checklist for thesis proofreading.

Check the Structure of a thesis. The ideal chronological order is abstract, introduction, review, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion and references.

Check grammar, spelling and punctuation errors. You can use tools like Grammarly for this.

Check the synch of thesis tense and tone and, English style. Carefully select words.

Check technical parameters. For example, text style- Times New Roman, Text size- 12, space- 1.5 and marginated text.

Check the citation and references. Correlated citations with each reference and manually check all citations.

Check the continuity of citations and referencing style throughout the thesis. Use only a single or recommended style.

Check the navigation, heading and subheading, list of figures, and list of tables with the page numbers.

Check the continuity of the header and footer matter. For example, the chapter number and name in the header and the thesis title and page number in the footer.
