9 Requirements for Achieving a PhD Degree

Unlike other educational degrees, PhD doesn’t rely only on examination. Here is the list of requirements for achieving a PhD degree.

Students have to complete his/her PhD coursework before going ahead with their PhD. A coursework is a short course of 6 to 12 months during PhD.

Coursework

Students have to publish at least 2 research publications in renowned journals or SCOPUS-listed journals during their PhD tenure.

Publications

Students have to conduct and complete research on a dedicated topic whose results are logical, important and enough to defend the PhD.

Research

A thesis is another important requirement to achieve a PhD degree. Students have to write an in-depth, structured and well-reviewed draft as a thesis.

Thesis

Students have to review their thesis from their supervisor and two external referees. After a thorough review,  students can submit their thesis.

Students have to check their thesis for plagiarism. They can only publish their thesis if it is plagiarism-free.

Plagiarism

A well-written draft or thesis is published as per the requirement of the university. The published draft must fulfil all the needs to award the thesis.

Publishing the research

Students have to present their research to the university research committee in a Powerpoint presentation. Again, the presentation must be as per the regulations.

By logically arguing with experts, referees and the university committee, students have to defend their research work during the presentation.
