PhD is the highest level of academic honor in any Education system and is given to find new knowledge in the relevant field.

Unlike the common curriculum of the education system, no examination is required for PhD, instead, an open discussion session is conducted to award it.

It takes ideally 3 years to complete a PhD. However, it may take more than 5 or 7 years to complete it. It depends on the topic's complexity.

The sheer goal of doing a PhD is to select a topic, identify a gap/problem and fill it by finding new knowledge.

PhD can be awarded in any stream. Popularly, students apply after a master's degree– in science, arts, commerce or engineering.

To defend their work students have to write a thesis. The thesis must be long enough to justify the topic.
